AT THE DIAMOND WITH BROOKLYN FORK & SPOON

On March 1st (which also happens to be my birthday!), I was invited to exhibit some work as part of an event organized by Brooklyn Fork&Spoon at the Diamond Bar in Greenpoint. I was thrilled to be invited, and instead of just going through my catalogue of work, I wanted to create something entirely new. I was looking through some of my old sketchbooks, and came across an entry I made back in 2008 about a visit I made to a fortune teller. The idea was that I wanted to have my fortune read, and make a self-portrait based on what my future had in store for me. Naturally, I found the reading a little inconclusive - but the fortune teller did provide some colorful imagery for me, which I drew on for the piece below.
